Not Every Step is Forward

i was really happy with this concept when i made it. still am, but i wish i had something a little more flashy to put on my homepage. :/

goal of distressonly when the bells ring  to flag down our death  do we realize what we  are here to do   
to love all we meet  and no matter, we will  always feel as we never  did enough   
closer i come to that goal,  the farther it runs  and we almost feel as if  we're on its heels  but that's just it's ghost.  the real thing is a mile ahead  laughing, leaving in his  dust of retreat.

and this key...so a friend of mine has this box of keys that he's collected over the past several years.  some of them are normal, some of them not.  some old, some new.  and all of them have a story.  i've always thought it would make an interesting tv show or even movie.  the narrator would start each episode by starting to talk about one of the keys, and it would flash back and depict the story as he tells it.  many of the keys are rusty, some of them don't even look like keys i've ever seen.   
even the box itself could have a story.  it's this medium-wooden box that's about and this key...

i've noticed that there's an increasing amount of symbolism using fire in a lot of things i've written recently? anyone else noticed? couldn't tell you why, i was just pondering it.
